Joe Garner was appointed Deputy Chief Executive, HSBC UK and became a director of HSBC Bank plc, on 1 December 2010. In this role he leads HSBCs retail and commercial banking business in the UK. Joe joined HSBC in September 2004 as Group General Manager UK Personal Financial Services.
Joes career began at Procter and Gamble in 1991. While at P&G Joe held a variety of roles including positions in the U.K., Romania and at P&G's European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
Joe was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. He was educated at Kings College School, Wimbledon and holds an MA in geography from Magdalene College, Cambridge. He is a keen triathlete and competes when possible. Joe is married and has one child.
