Filling in gaps where his previous volume of Emory history left off left off, Gary Hauk, vice president and deputy to the president and widely considered the University’s resident historian, and coeditor Sally Wolff King recruited sixty contributors from Emory and beyond to tell the stories of the past half-century—from the desegregation of Grady Hospital to the founding of the Department of Film Studies, and from the growth of environmental consciousness on campus to the appointment of distinguished professors.
