A unique opportunity to view a rare, restored silent film, Dagli Appennini alle Ande/From the Apennines to the Andes by Umberto Paradisi (1916), with an original score performed live by Chris Opperman (Cali School of Music) and Marco Cappelli.
Adapted from the De Amicis' classic book Cuore (1886), the film will be the point of departure for Stony Brook University Prof. Jacqueline Reich’s introductory lecture about the Italian cinematic production focusing on the transatlantic voyage of Italian emigrants in the early 20th century.
