The tasting will include five French grape varietals

The connoisseurs of Gary's Wine have selected 5 French wines. There will be samples for every palate’s pleasure. And what would a wine tasting be without great food pairings? Assorted French style dishes including rocket salad, assorted French cheeses, chicken breast veronique, vichy carrots, green beans almondine, oven roasted parsnips and yukon gold potato medley, assorted cookies, opera cake slices, and French macaroons will be served along with the wines.
Fruity nose. Mainly vegetal aromas such as boxwood and blackcurrant bud evolving towards floral scents of acacia.
  • BOURGOGNE BLANC 2009 – White Wine
A very fresh and bright nose speaks of lemon and pear notes is trimmed in a deft hint of wood that can also be found on the round, delicious and generous flavors that culminate in a crisp and fruity finish.
Layered, fresh, and beautifully textured, with a full-bodied, rich feel in the mouth that never seems heavy.
Very ripe, fresh and lively, offering plum, cassis and black cherry compote notes mixed with lightly singed sandalwood and warm stone accents.
Ruby red in colour with raspberry and earthy aromas on the nose. In the mouth this Marsannay is fleshy and structured and the tannins are mellow but still present.

About the Wine connoisseur - Chris Freudenreic

After twenty-five years with a major German bank Chris decided it was time for a career change. Being fortunate to have spent time in great wine producing regions (Bacharach in the Rheingau in Germany, Sicily, Provence, Vienna, Austria, Monterey, and Sonoma) wine seemed an obvious choice. He prepared by completing the Intermediate and Advanced WSET wine courses, as well as the Intensive Wine Program at the French Culinary School Institute in NYC. These experiences have enhanced his appreciation for wine and motivated him even more. Chris recently passed the CSW exam and hopes to start the WSET Diploma Program very soon.

Event made possible through generous support from Liberty Mutual Insurance.
