With its world-renowned wisteria in bloom, Van Vleck House & Gardens will host two musical events on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th.  Opehttp://alumniconnections.com/olc/filelib/MNT/email/Library/CART/Van%20Vleck%20concert%20032413.JPGn to the public, the concerts will feature the brass quintet of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and “A Mother’s Day Bouquet of Musical Delights” performed by members of the faculty of the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University.

 A Mother’s Day tradition, the New Jersey Symphony performance will be held outdoors by the Van Vleck’s classical courtyard, from 1 to 3 pm, fair weather only.  Members of the public are welcome to bring blankets or folding chairs and enjoy the concert from the gardens.  No reservations are necessary.

As they are throughout the year, the Van Vleck gardens will be open to the public on Mother’s Day weekend.

The Van Vleck Board of Management recently announced a Music Patron program which gives those who enjoy these concerts an opportunity to help assure their continuation.  Music Patrons are provided with preferred seating, advance notice of events and other benefits.  For information about the Music Patron program, contact Van Vleck by telephone or email.

For many years, Van Vleck House & Gardens has been a center of arts and music resources for the Montclair community. The Montclair Foundation (the owner of the Van Vleck property) has a long tradition supporting arts activities and organizations.

Van Vleck House & Gardens is owned by The Montclair Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization supporting non-profits in our community. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving the historic Van Vleck property for public enrichment, and horticultural education and research.  Continuing the Van Vleck family’s commitment to the community, the house serves as a center for non-profit events and is home to several New Jersey foundations.  The gardens are open to the public daily.  For more information about our education programs, volunteer opportunities, workshops and events, please visit our website at
