Monday October 7 Event Schedule
Homecoming Kickoff at Baker University Center - Time TBA
- Let's kickoff the 2013 Homecoming week and celebrate OUr Past, OUr Present, OUr Future!. The 4th Annual Homecoming Kickoff event will be held throughout Baker University Center on Monday, October 7 (Time TBA). This event is hosted by Ohio University Student Affairs.

Paint the Town Green throughout the Athens Community
- During Homecoming Week, October 7-14, 2012, the Student Alumni Board (SAB) will be partnering with local businesses and organizations on campus to collect canned food for the Athens Food Pantry. All cans collected will funnel back into Athens County feeding those who are in need. Last year the event collected approximately 2,000 cans! SAB hopes to make this event bigger than years past, but we need your help. Also, don’t forget to display your Bobcat spirit in support of Homecoming 2013. Locations for our collection boxes will be announced soon so please continue to check back!

Homecoming Weekend Getaway Packages and Lodging Information
Due to record breaking student enrollment all 42 dorms will be designated as student housing. Therefore, NO GUEST HOUSING WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR HOMECOMING 2013.

Homecoming 2013 - Friday October 11 Event Schedule
Homecoming Ohio University Archives Display at Alden Library
- Time: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Homecoming is all about renewing old acquaintances and remembering the past at Ohio University, and Ohio University Archives once again hopes to enhance the homecoming experience by welcoming and entertaining hundreds of alumni and guests, as well as current students and staff with its annual display of 20 tables piled high with historic materials representing Ohio University’s unique and storied past.

Featured in this increasingly popular event will be OU newspapers dating back over 100 years, hundreds of photographs, and dozens of yearbooks, sports and other event-related programs, maps, posters, student handbooks, student scrapbooks, dance cards, student magazines, dorm newsletters, and other Ohio University memorabilia.

So, for this year’s Homecoming, make sure to put some time aside to stop in at the 4th floor of Alden Library where University Archivist Bill Kimok looks forward, as always, to seeing old friends again, and making some new ones.

Ohio University Alumni Association's Annual Awards Gala at Baker University Center Ballroom
- Time: 5:30 PM
- Join the Ohio University Alumni Association Board of Directors and Ohio University Intercollegiate Athletics in celebrating the achievements of some of the University's most outstanding alumni and friends at the 2013 Alumni Awards Gala. The black-tie reception and dinner will be held at Baker University Center on Friday, October 11. The reception will begin at 5:30 PM, with dinner and program at 6:30PM. This year's award recipients are:

Historical Hayrides & Walking Tours at the Ridges
- Time: 5:30 PM
- Join alumni, faculty, staff and community members to learn more about the history of one of the most intriguing spots on campus, The Ridges ─ starting at 5:30 PM.

There will be horse-drawn wagon and walking tours where you will learn the history of the buildings and how they are now used at Ohio University.

Local owner, John Hutchinson and his two teams of Percheron horses will provide the wagon rides, while university expert Doug McCabe and Greg Polzer with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Ohio, talk about the history of The Ridges.

The walking tours will be hosted by Dr. Katherine Ziff. Last year, Dr. Ziff released her book Asylum on the Hill: History of a Healing Landscape, which is an extensive history of The Ridges.

The Kennedy Museum will be open for extended hours and Ziff’s book will be available for purchase at Museum Café.

Each tour participant will receive a complimentary OHIO mug that can be filled with hot chocolate while waiting for their tour. The cost is $5 per person and children under 3 are free.

The George V. Voinovich School Society of Alumni and Friends will be partnering with the OUAA hayrides to offer activities while guests wait for their hayride. There will be a corn hole station for guests to play a friendly game of corn hole before or after their hayride at no cost. There will also be a s’more station for guests to create their own fall snack. There is a $3 per person fee for the s’more station. All children must be accompanied by an adult to make a s’more.

Yell Like Hell at Pepsi Tailgreat Park
- Time: 9:00 PM
- Hosted by Student Alumni Board (SAB). Get excited for this year’s "Yell Like Hell" pep rally and bonfire, invite your fellow Bobcats to come cheer for the Homecoming football game at Baker University Center. There will be an appearance by Rufus and performances by the OHIO Dance Team, Singing Men of Ohio and much more! The best part is…it’s ALL FREE! Homecoming 2013 - Saturday October 12 Event Schedule
Alumni Coffee Hour at the Front Room at Baker University Center
- Time: 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
- Before heading to the Homecoming parade, stop by the Front Room on the 4th floor of Baker University Center from 9:30-10:30AM and enjoy free coffee, hot chocolate, and specialty drinks courtesy of the Ohio University Alumni Association. While you’re there, make sure to grab some OHIO giveaways to show your Bobcat pride throughout the day and especially at the homecoming game beginning at 2:00 PM!

Homecoming Parade
- Time: 10:00 AM
Registration for walking in the Homecoming Parade is now closed.

Important Dates to Remember
• On Friday, October 4 participants will receive an itinerary from an OUAA staff member.
• All t-shirts must be picked up by 5PM on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Konneker Alumni Association.
• Parade walkers will meet at 9AM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Ohio University Transportation and Parking Services parking lot number 145 on the map. http://www.ohio.edu/athens/parking/
• Anyone who arrives for the parade and is clearly intoxicated will not be permitted to walk.
• Walkers will be given items to hand out to parade attendees. Items must be handed out and not thrown due to safety issues.

Homecoming Parade hosted by UPC
- Time: 10:00 AM
- The Homecoming Parade of 2013 will celebrate “OUr Past, OUr Present, and OUr Future” with spirited floats, banners, and displays representing both the university and the surrounding community. Parade packets will be available in the near future.

2013 PARADE ROUTE: The Parade will start on Factory Street. The parade will turn right onto Union Street, continuing up Union Street to turn right on Court Street (opposite of normal traffic flow) up to Baker University Center where units are scored by judges. The parade proceeds on Park Place, opposite of Alden Library then turns right onto University Terrace and flows to parking lot 93 for float recycling.

Bobcat Bash at The Atrium Café “A Certified Green Restaurant” in Grover Center
- Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
- A pre-homecoming game Bobcat Bash will be held from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Grover Center immediately following the Homecoming Parade. Included in the $20.00 early bird ticket is music, picnic food, beverages (including beer and wine) and free OHIO merchandise for attendees. Early bird tickets are $10.00 for kids ages 6-12 and those under 5 are free.
The Bobcat Bash leads up to the OHIO vs. Central Michigan football game at 2:00 PM, featuring a Marching 110 halftime performance and presentation of the 2013 Alumni Awardees.

Golden Bobcat Reception at Konneker Alumni Center - TIme: 6:00 PM - In honor of this special milestone, the Ohio University Alumni Association is recognizing the Golden Bobcats. Join fellow 1963 graduates at a special reception following the game. For more information on this event, including registration information, please click here.

Star Gazing at The Ridges
- Time: 7:30 PM
- Join Outdoor Pursuits and Astronomer George Eberts and Introductory Observational Astronomy teacher Tom O'Grady for an evening of stargazing and campfire fun. We will spend the evening roasting marshmallows, spotting constellations, gazing through a telescope, and listening to tales of the night sky and The Ridges lore. Participants will meet at the Konneker Research Laboratories (Building 25) at the Ridges. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. If cloudy or rainy, the event will take place in the Ridges Auditorium. Fee includes hot chocolate and campfire snacks. Once you are at The Ridges, please follow the signs posted to the event and event parking. This is a rain-or-shine event.
