Join University of Rochester alumni, parents and friends for an evening at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as the Eastman School of Music presents Voice of Eastman: 7 outstanding students from its Voice and Opera Department in a wide-ranging program taken from opera, song literature, and the American musical theater.
The Eastman School of Music and its musical environment are unique. The students here are interested not only in their own instruments solo repertoire but also in the repertoire of other musical disciplines. This broad interest in a wide musical repertoire is one of the hallmarks of the Eastman experiencethat the students here are exposed to the complete musical /artistic experience which helps to develop their own unique artistic personality. Eastmans Voice & Opera program offers an environment of excellence in which the healthiest development of the vocal artist can be achieved. Vocal technique, repertory, and stylistic expertise underlie the growth of expressive, communicative singers.
After the concert, enjoy an hors doeuvre reception with remarks by Steven Daigle, chair of Eastman's voice department and director of Eastman Opera Theatre.
The concert is general admission and is free and open to the public.
The reception is free of charge to our reunion alumni whose class year ends in 2 or 7.
