Whitman College Farms: A Great Investment with Educational Dividends
The operation of our college farms is a marvelous story, dating back to the 1930s, when farm mortgages came into the college’s investment portfolio. Today’s volunteer members of the Farm Committee manage a total of 15 farms encompassing over 20,000 acres in four counties. Whitman farms generate crucial earnings used for student support and important college projects.
Join Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer Peter Harvey '84 for a behind-the-scenes look at the stewardship and management of the farmland owned by Whitman College, and see how this work grows into a bountiful harvest for today’s students.
Light refreshments will be served.
